Autism Education Trust Newsletter Readers

Welcome to Theories Landscape’s World of Inclusive Playgrounds!
Hello and welcome to our new visitors from the Autism Education Trust newsletter! We’re excited to have you join us.

We are proud to be associated with the Autism Education Trust, as we wholeheartedly champion the importance of play. Crafting any play space presents its unique set of challenges and the demand for innovative solutions. This challenge becomes even more pronounced for schools that provide special educational support.

Designing a playground tailored for children with special educational needs (SEN) necessitates a comprehensive approach. It’s crucial to ensure that the space is thoughtfully structured to accommodate the evolving requirements of the students. Meeting these demands calls for a playground that is purposefully designed.

This then raises the pivotal question: “How can we create a space tailored specifically for children with special needs?” Each playground we create is meticulously crafted to encompass vital features such as green spaces with canopies, tranquil zones, accessible play equipment, and sensory gardens or areas that allow children to engage all their senses. This sensory play aspect should be seamlessly woven throughout the entire playground. Sensory play is an essential component of SEN playgrounds. For some children, processing their surroundings can be challenging. By providing opportunities for sensory play, we contribute to strengthening the neural pathways in a child’s brain, fostering development in physical, social, cognitive, and sensory recognition.

With over 40 years of experience in playground design, construction, and installation, we stand ready to assist you in crafting spaces where every child can explore, learn, and grow together. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us and let us know how playgrounds can enrich the lives of your children.
